Laurabeijn.nl Newborn Scrapnap

The newborn Scrapnap is a Dutch handmade fitted nappy that is mainly made of recycled fabric. The nappy fits from around 2-6 kg and comes with a matching insert for extra absorbency. The diaper closes with snaps and has an additional snap to create a dipdown for the cord stump. This way you do not have to worry if you are using the diaper straight after birth.

All Scrapnap diapers by Laura Beijn are handmade, exclusive limited editions. The absorbent layers are mostly made from old fabrics like napped cotton cloths. The printed fabric on the outside is sometimes bought new, but usually a leftover from another sewing project. Most prints are seen on only one or two diapers. Seldomly we see them on 3 diapers, but that is the maximum amount. This means that sold out truly means sold out and every diaper is unique.

Laura wants some new love for ‘scrap’, which is why the warranty is set up uniquely.

Scrap: a small piece or portion, fragment, to break up, to discard as useless, a fight or quarrel, an extract from something written, waste material or used articles.

You will get a 9-month warranty for the snaps and other production faults. If there is something wrong that causes the diaper to malfunction, then Laura will try to mend it. Mending is always better than replacing it, because why would you throw away a diaper that can be easily repaired?

The Newborn Scrapnap diapers need a PUL/TPU or wool cover (wol of PUL/TPU) to be waterproof.
