Flat Diapers
What is a flat diaper?
Flat diapers are perhaps the most versatile of all reuseable diapers. They are not only used as a nappy, but also as a sunscreen, burp cloth, bib, cleaning cloth and so on. Certainly handy to have a whole couple in the house with some small children in the house. Flat diapers are also ideal for on the go as a changing mat or blanket.
But these diapers are originally really reuseable diapers and they are very good at that! Due to the different folding options, a muslin diaper always fits. With an extra booster, a muslin flat diaper can also serve as a reuseable diaper for a toddler. A cover of PUL or TPU or a wool pants must still be used over flat diapers to create a water-resistant whole.
Flat diapers can be used as a reuseable diaper from birth until your child is toilet trained. By folding them in a kite fold or origami fold, you can fold the flat diaper around your child and secure it with a nappy clip such as a Snappi. For the bigger children you can fold one or two muslin cloth in padfold and add a booster for extra absorption. In addition to muslin cloths, there are also other types of fold cloth diapers.
Washing flat diapers
Flat diapers can be washed at 95 degrees and can be tumble dried. In practice, it is often sufficient to wash the nappies at 60 degrees. In addition, this slows down wear and tear and is better for the environment.

Due to their 80 x 80 cm size, the flat diapers of Disana and Avo+cado are approximately 30% larger than the flat diapers of other brands that have a size of 70 x 70 cm. This is an advantage with somewhat larger children, but is a disadvantage with newborn babies.
