Birdseye Flat Diapers

Birdseye Nappies

The old-fashioned birdseye flat diaper is still a fantastic diaper, if you do not mind a bit of folding. Because of a special weaving technique, a birdseye flat diaper is more absorbent than a muslin flat diaper, even though the diaper is more or less the same thickness. The look of the fabric is what gave the name to this “birdseye” flat diaper.

There are several different folds possible with these square cloths, which usually measure 70 x 70 cm. This makes birdseye flat diapers very versatile diapers that can be used straight after birth, but also works perfectly fine for a toddler. If the diaper is not absorbent enough, you can easily fold in an extra booster. The diaper can be secured with a diaper fastener like a Snappi, painter’s tape or nothing at all, in emergencies.

You do need a PUL, TPU or wool cover over the birdseye flat diapers, to make the diaper waterproof.
