Liners
Liners are placed loosely on the diaper or on the top booster to protect the diaper and facilitate removal of faeces. There are reusable fleece and silk liners that the stool can be shaken off and disposable viscose, cellulose and paper liners that are thrown away when stool has come on.
Liners for cloth diapers
By using liners, you won't end up with full turds in your washing machine. You place a liner inside the diaper between your child and the diaper. If only urine has been passed, most liners can be washed along with the diaper. If stool has also been passed, dispose of the liner with the feces in the general waste bin. Never flush a liner down the toilet; this causes blockages!
Disposable liners made of viscose, cellulose, or paper that have only become wet can be washed and reused. Popolini viscose liners perform best in the washing machine for multiple reuse, but Hu-Da and Little Lamb liners can also be reused several times. However, the liners may shrink after being in the washing machine.
For babies who are still exclusively breastfed, the use of liners is not necessary. This stool is so thin and organic that it is easily washed away by the washing machine. Always use a liner when applying a greasy ointment to your baby's bottom. Ointment has a very detrimental effect on the absorbency of the diaper.
