Kekoa

KEKOA MEANS THE WARRIOR OR BRAVE ONE.

NOT ONLY ARE YOU BRAVING THE UNKNOWNS OF PARENTHOOD, YOUR LITTLE ONE IS BRAVING A WHOLE NEW WORLD

Kekoa is a New Zealand brand that was founded in 202 by Alexis. She couldn’t find a nice reusable cloth diaper that was tight enough to fit her chubby baby without being uncomfortable. That’s where Kekoa was born!

Kekoa believes it is important to take good care of everyone in the chain. Not only for the end users, baby and parents, but also for the people who work in the production chain. They have been looking for the right supplier for a long time. There were suppliers who could make the diapers cheaper, but the work ethic was not what Kekoa wanted. They eventually found the current supplier, paying a higher price for the production, but taking better care of the employees. Not only in the field of ethics but also paying a fair wage. The factory is SEDEX certified and is checked annually on standard matters such as fair wages and the detection and prevention of forced labor, but also on matter that are often much less controlled, such as gender equality, sustainable livelihoods and having good workers representation.

All diapers have the OEKO-TEX 100 certificate. The products have therefore been tested for harmful substances and found to be free from them. It is therefore safe to use on the delicate baby skin.

Reducing the environmental impact is also an important goal for Kekoa. For example, all PUL products are made from recycled polyester. This saves 75% energy and even 90% water compared to new polyester. This saves about six plastic bottles that don’t go to waste, per pair of cover pants.

The intention of Kekoa is in Maori ”Toitū te marae o Tāne-mahuta, Toutū te marae o Tangaroa, Toitū te tangata” – if the land is well, and the sea is well, the people will thrive. And that is reflected in their entire working method and in the final products.
