The hems around the belly and legs have elastics to provide a snug fit. The mesh-like lining of the diaper will keep stool inside of the diaper.

Very nice shorts! Convenient to take to baby swimming and on vacation. I have 2 so I can change them out should there be a big errand in them.

Out of necessity already just used once as overpants with a preformed diaper: no leaks! Easy to loosen and adjust to child's size. Also nice print.
